Chevy Spark Plugs

Before your vehicle can run, it first needs ignition. To get that, the original spark plugs need to play their part. They generate a flash that ignites the air and fuel mix that's produced by your internal combustion engine. That flash comes from an electric arc that crosses the gap between the spark plug's leads. If your vehicle is motivated by a diesel engine, however, the process is slightly different. These engines use glowplugs instead. The heating element in the glowplug ignites a mist of fuel that has been sprayed into the cylinder.

Authentic OEM Spark Plugs are the Right Ones for the Job

The high-quality plugs that the factory installed in your vehicle eventually will go bad, though. This may be due to the gaps widening, which leads to weaker sparking. Maybe they've gotten corroded. You can expect that you'll get between 60,000 to 100,000 miles out of your original GM spark plugs. If your engine starts to backfire, or it seems to take longer to fire up the engine, don't just assume it's the alternator at fault. It's more likely that your spark plugs need to be replaced. Make sure to use the genuine GM spark plugs that are already proven to be compatible with your model's engine. Our online parts department has them in stock and ready to ship right out.
